COVID-19 updates
Ofsted: COVID-19 rolling update – This sets out our guidance and information relating to coronavirus for schools, early years, children’s social care and further education and skills providers. We are updating it regularly. If you need to see what we’ve added since you last checked it, you can select ‘history’ on the page and this lists all the updates.
Schools
Non-association independent schools inspections and outcomes: management information – Added management information as at 31 March 2020 and updated the release schedule following the suspension of routine inspections.
Unregistered schools: management information – Published management information from 1 January 2016 to 31 March 2020.
Ofsted Parent View: management information – Published management information as at 6 April 2020.
Children’s social care
Registering emergency children’s homes as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic: fast-track applications – Guide for local authorities and existing registered providers on fast-tracking their application to register children’s homes services.
Children’s social care health declaration form – Added a temporary social care health self-declaration form for use during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ofsted’s children’s social care blog: Foster Care Fortnight 2020 – extraordinary times need extraordinary people – Yvette Stanley, our National Director for Regulation and Social Care, blogs about the invaluable work of foster carers.
Register as a children’s social care provider or manager – Updated with three things: clarification around the registration process during the COVID-19 pandemic; information on how to register care and accommodation provided to a child as a result of a court order; and amendments to take account of our new online service.
Register as a provider of children’s services – Updated with two things: clarification around the registration process during the COVID-19 pandemic; and amendments to take account of our new online service.
Becoming and running a children’s social care service – This new page lists all our guidance in one place so that you can find out how to register as a children’s social care service in England, as well as what you need to update us about and how to do so.
Pay your children’s social care service invoice – Guidance amended to add that children’s social care services can now use this online service to pay invoices for renewing your annual registration and making changes to your service.
New social care forms – You should now access the following 3 forms through GOV.UK (links below) instead of through Ofsted Online (our former site that will soon be closing):
• SC1 – apply to register a children’s social care service
• SC2 – register if you’re connected with a children’s social care service
• SC3 – report changes to your children’s social care service
These new forms are more user-friendly and better for accessing on mobile devices. There is no change to the regulations or guidance about what you need to tell us or what information we require from you. Please make sure that you replace any bookmarks you have to the old Ofsted Online site. If you need to use one of the 3 new forms, you can feed back on how you’ve found it at the end.
